Heavy rains and flooding in West Virginia have severely damaged the properties of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and Elk Valley Christian School in Elkview, West Virginia. Please read the following note from Jerry Fisher, the executive director of the West Virginia Christian Education Association, and consider what your ministry can do to assist.

Brother Jeff and people of AACS/WVCEA:

Your prayers are appreciated more than you can know. Many people have showed up at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church/Elk Valley Christian School and are helping with cleaning up the indescribable damage. Water/silt five feet high in the sanctuary, higher in the gymnasium and class rooms. Everything was lost, but the Lord is already at work restoring this ministry through His people. We had a combined evening service on the parking lot Sunday evening where a large group of volunteers from the church, other area churches and Christian schools helped take out the destroyed carpeting, furniture, etc. Six preachers including Byron Foxx led the service with encouraging messages – what a blessing the singing and testimonies of God’s faithfulness to us were! Several Church and school families lost their homes and possessions (including Jack Suttle, Administrator). Missionaries/pastors are helping reach out also in the area with teams of workers to help clean/sanitize homes.

A great need is the funding to rebuild this ministry. A website has been set up for information, pictures of the devastation, prayer, and giving to this ministry at Please share this website ( and information with the churches and schools of AACS. The need is great and our God is great Who will supply.

Again, thank all of you for your prayers and help. “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills. From whence cometh my help? My help cometh from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.” Ps. 121:1-2

Jerry Fisher
Executive Director, WVCEA
The Great American BBQ Sat, 01 Jan 2000 00:00:00 CST SM_77
Join us this coming Saturday, July 2 at the office complex in front of Walnut Grove for The Great American BBQ from 11 am - 3 pm.
