Kyle S. Boyd
Kyle S. Boyd co founded WGCS with his wife, Shannon Boyd, in 2001. He serves as the school Headmaster & Athletic Director. Mr. Boyd was awarded South Carolina Coach of the Year in 2011 by the South Carolina Association of Christian Schools. From 1998 to 2001, Mr. Boyd was a middle school teacher at Kennedy Middle School, within the Charlotte Mecklenburg School District. During his time at Kennedy Middle School, Mr. Boyd taught in the exceptional children classroom that dealt with students that had special needs such as autism and OHI (other health impaired.) He also spent time teaching accelerated students in Mathematics and Science. Prior to that, he spent 2 years as an adventure camp counselor for 6-10 year olds at James Island County Park in Charleston, South Carolina. Mr. Boyd coached baseball for Kennedy Middle School and the Charlotte Megastars, an AAU baseball program that plays in tournaments across the nation. Mr. Boyd earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from the College of Charleston and holds teaching credentials in North and South Carolina.

Shannon D. Boyd and her husband, Kyle Boyd founded WGCS in 2001. Prior to her position at WGCS, Mrs. Boyd started her own tutoring facility called Learning Link of the Carolinas in 1994. Within her tutoring facility, Mrs. Boyd created a multiplication program and a phonics program that is geared toward the learning disabled child yet greatly benefits on level functioning children. She continues to tutor and serves as the 6th-8th Grade Math teacher as well as mentoring the teachers at WGCS. It was from her tutoring experience that Walnut Grove Christian School was born. From 1997 Mrs. Boyd taught at South Middle School in Lancaster, South Carolina. She was named the “Most Admired Teacher of Lancaster County” in 1996. Mrs. Boyd earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from Winthrop University and holds teaching credentials in South Carolina.
