Palmetto Boys State Delegates Chosen

Look who is going to Palmetto Boys State this summer! Congrats to Gunnar Hensley & Banks Johnson; they were chosen by American Legion Post 43 and WGCS Administration to attend this wonderful South Carolina tradition. The American Legion’s Boys State program is a unique way for young men to learn about the American system of government and politics by participating in a mock governmental system. Only boys with outstanding qualities of leadership, character, scholarship, and loyalty and service to their schools and community are chosen & we are super excited for Banks and Gunnar as they prepare to join the brotherhood of Palmetto Boys State Special thanks to Snowflake Village and Goshen Glenn Ministries for sponsoring our Boys State representatives.

WGCS serves at Special Olympics

What a beautiful day for the Special Olympics Spring Games. Our high school students & teachers were inspired and had a wonderful time serving the Special Olympics Mecklenburg County athletes & families.

Through the power of sports, people with intellectual disabilities discover new strengths and abilities, skills and success. The Special Olympic athletes find joy, confidence and fulfillment -- on the playing field and in life. They also inspire people in their communities and elsewhere to open their hearts to a wider world of human talents and potential.

The mission of Special Olympics is near & dear to the heart of WGCS & we are honored to work alongside everyone today!

4 Easy ways to help WGCS!

Sign up for local area retailer's rewards programs:

Harris Teeter Link your VIC Card. If you have a VIC card please RE-LINK your card starting August 1st for the upcoming 2015-16 school year. You can do this on line or at the check-out line during your next visit, just tell the cashier to link your card to WGCSl  #5402 For online enrollment go to: http://www.harristeeter.com/community/together_in_education/link_to_your_school.aspx  To obtain a VIC card go to customer service and sign up but be sure to have them link your new card to WGCS.

Target The Target Red debt card is free. There's no credit check (it is not a credit card just a debit) all you need is a voided check tell them at any register when your paying you want to sign up for the Target debit card it works just like your debit bank card. Then you must sign up our school when you get home online. The debit card take less then 5 min. not only does it earn money for our school but it saves you 5 % on your total when you shop so it helps us both. There are only 2 people so far with our school signed up, so join us to bring in money to our school. If every family signed up with the students we have we would be able to bring in every month at least $500-$1,000 so please help our school.

Amazon Smile Next time you shop on Amazon go to http://smile.amazon.com and do your shopping via Amazon Smile. It's the same company but you can choose WGCS as your charity under your account.  WGCS will receive a percentage of all your qualifying purchases. Click "Your Account" then click "Choose a Charity" then search for WGCS and you are all set!  Just be sure to go the link above when shopping on Amazon. Be sure you see WGCS listed as your supporting charity under he search bar on the home page.

Box Tops Save your Box Tops and send those in monthly to help benefit our Student Council.
